On Memorial Day weekend 2004, my life changed forever. I found out that my Marine boyfriend-of-two-years was being sent to Iraq. During his deployment, I did my best to live my lie to the fullest, but I could not escape the strain.

For seven months, I waited and prayed for his safe return.

The weeks immediately preceding his Homecoming were my most difficult. My back went out. I could not breathe deeply without pain, and the area around my heart actually hurt.

Luckily, I was invited to a seminar sponsored by his unit where they explained that my symptoms were normal manifestations of stress. I wished I’d had this information sooner. It would have helped.

My boyfriend came home safely and we are now married, but thousands of families are still battling their way through the challenges of war and its effects. These families face obstacles without substantial preparation and support. I want to help them have an easier, healthier journey to healing.

While Time Stands Still will give families support and recognition. Whether on a base or in the middle of nowhere, While Time Stands Still will provide comfort, guidance, and help to enlighten the greater public.

I am in the unique position of having both the personal and professional experience to create this documentary. I feel compelled to be of service by bringing aid to Military and Veteran Families.

I invite you to join me in this endeavor.  Buy a DVD and celebrate the courage of Military and Veteran Families.
